Ingredients

For the Cajun Seasoning:
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
For the Shrimp:
  • 2 pounds extra-large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter, cubed and at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • Lemon wedges for serving (optional)

 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Make the Cajun seasoning:
    In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, oregano, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and thyme.
  3. Season the shrimp:
    Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and place them in a large bowl. Add the Cajun seasoning and olive oil. Toss well to evenly coat the shrimp.
  4. Bake:
    Arrange the shrimp in a single layer on a sheet pan, making sure not to overcrowd.
    Bake for 8 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  5. Add the butter:
    While the pan is still hot, add the cubed butter and gently toss with the shrimp until melted and coated.
  6. Serve:
    Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges, if desired.
    Delicious with rice, grits, buttered noodles, or even as a flavorful appetizer.
